To help you decide “Am I the right photographer or videographer that you want to talk to” I have answered some FAQs below

What sort of commercial photography work do you do?

I specialise in commercial photography particularly where people are an integral part of the image, for example staff working together, serving clients in a service industry such as hotels and restaurants, a teacher engaging with the children, or a craftsman working on the product that they are creating.  Where you want your brand to shine through, we capture the essence of what you do and deliver the images to help you create your vision. I also create high quality product images to promote your products across all media channels including print. I have also successfully worked on projects in commercial, industrial, corporate and architectural photography.

Portrait sessions

We undertake portrait sessions at your home, or go to your local park or woods or even the beach. We can set up a studio at Chestergates with make up artist and hairstylist if you wish. What to wear depends on the style of pictures that you want to have. We always have a pre-shoot consultation with you two or three weeks before your portrait session so we can discuss what you want in detail and how we photograph you, your family, your pet or your horse. We talk about clothes, hair and makeup for your shoot. This consultation gives you plenty time to arrange a trip to the hairdressers, or go shopping for new outfits if you wish. We’ll give you advice on what everyone should wear at the shoot, what works well and what doesn’t in photographs. You won’t need to go out and spend a fortune on new clothes, but it’s a good excuse if you want to!!

What type of video do you create?

We specialise in creating corporate videos, where a person (usually from the company) is introducing their team or their services. We have created talking head videos, where one person is talking about a service that they have introduced, an introduction to the team of surgeons at Chestergates veterinary hospital, each talking about their own speciality. We also create testimonial videos, where clients talk about the excellent service that they have received following an introduction from a key person in the business. We can also create video using still images with a voice over to tell the viewer exactly what it is they want to convey to potential clients.

Copyright

This is the most asked and is also widely misunderstood. We own the copyright in all of the images (as does any photographer) we’ve taken and the albums we’ve designed. All of a photographers work is protected under copyright law. If you commission a photographer to take your portraits you don’t automatically get the copyright or the rights to have all of the images taken in the session. We never assign the copyright for any of our work. In commercial work we provide a licence so that images can be used for the purpose they were intended. Images for resale are by special order only

Does the portrait session price include all of the photographs on disc?

No, it doesn’t include the images supplied on a disc. After each shoot we select the best images to show you. You can then choose on the ones you want to have framed or put in an album. If you’ve booked a portrait session, including pets and horses, the session prices is for coverage time and one 7”x 5” framed photograph included in the price. We only supply finished images in frames and or albums or coffee table books as we want to be sure that my images are displayed and preserved in the best possible way. We will provide clients who have bought a couple of framed pictures or an album, a small selection of images formatted for Facebook so that clients can show some pictures from the session to friends and family.

Commercial clients would need the images on disc/file transfer to be able to supply them to their web designer, social media channels and for printed media for use in brochures, etc. Use of the images is agreed when the project is being priced.

Do you just work locally to the North West or are you able to travel around the UK or even further?

Based in Cheshire, our work is mainly across the county as well as Manchester and Merseyside, but our professional photographers are willing and able to work where ever your work is. We’ve had projects up and down the UK, so if you’re willing to pay for travel we’ll handle your project. Travel expenses are changed at cost with a small supplement for the time incurred.
